What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, often referred to as a “nose job,” is a surgical procedure in Miami designed to enhance the appearance of the nose. It involves reshaping the nasal structures to achieve a more harmonious balance with the rest of the face. Rhinoplasty can address various concerns, including altering the size, shape, angle, or symmetry of the nose, correcting nasal humps or depressions, or refining the nasal tip.

What are the benefits of Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty in Miami offers a range of benefits, both aesthetic and functional, that can positively impact a person’s appearance and quality of life, such as:

  • Changes your looks: Even minor imperfections can negatively affect your looks and self-esteem. Rhinoplasty can refine your nasal shape and create better facial symmetry.
  • Gives you a youthful appearance: Nasal drooping, downward sloping, and size can all occur due to aging. This surgery can rejuvenate your looks.
  • Corrects nasal breathing issues: Functional rhinoplasty can fix a deviated septum that blocks airflow, which can also reduce snoring dramatically.
  • Fixes a broken nose: A fall, accident, or altercation that results in a broken nose can not only cause pain and discomfort but also impact your nose function and appearance. This procedure can fix that.

Who are the best candidates for the Rhinoplasty procedure?

The best candidates for Rhinoplasty in Miami are individuals who:

  • Have realistic expectations
  • Are in good physical health
  • Are emotionally stable
  • Have specific concerns about their nose
  • Are at least in their late teens
  • Are well-informed about the procedure
  • Do not have body dysmorphia

What’s the first step?

The first step in undergoing Rhinoplasty in Miami is to schedule a consultation with our Patient Coordinator, who will discuss the treatment and determine if you are a qualified candidate. You will then schedule an additional appointment with Dr. Michael Keyes himself.

When you come in, Dr. Keyes will carefully evaluate your nasal structure, discuss your aesthetic goals and concerns, and provide personalized recommendations based on your unique facial anatomy and desired outcomes. Dr. Keyes will work closely with you to develop a customized treatment plan that addresses your specific needs and helps you achieve the nose you desire.

What to expect on the day of Rhinoplasty surgery

On the day of your Rhinoplasty surgery in Miami, FL, you can expect the red carpet treatment, ensuring your comfort and safety throughout the procedure. Dr. Michael Keyes and our expert medical team will greet you warmly and guide you through the pre-operative preparations, which includes making any markings that he will use as a “guide” throughout your surgery. You will also meet with our Anesthesiologist who will review your medical history and administer the anesthesia.

Once you are comfortably sedated, Dr. Keyes will begin the surgical process, meticulously reshaping and refining your nasal structure according to the pre-discussed treatment plan.

A Rhinoplasty can take place as either a closed procedure (incisions are hidden inside the nostrils) or as an open procedure where the incision is made across the columella (the narrow strip of tissue separating the nostrils). Dr. Keyes will discuss which option is best for your particular case.

When reshaping the structure of your nose, it may require either removing bone and cartilage to reduce the size or it may need cartilage grafts to improve the overall shape. It is very common for cartilage from your septum to be used, but depending on what is discussed during your consultation, it could involve cartilage from your ears, a section from your ribs, or even cadaveric grafts. Dr. Keyes can also fix a deviated septum during this surgery by straightening and reducing the projections in your nose to improve breathing. Finally, the nasal tissue and skin will be redraped and the incisions will be closed.

After the surgery is completed, you will be moved to a recovery area where you will be monitored as you wake up from anesthesia. Dr. Keyes and his team will provide detailed post-operative instructions and support to help facilitate a smooth recovery process. Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities, and we will be with you every step of the way to ensure your Rhinoplasty experience is as comfortable and successful as possible.

Procedure timeline

The first step to getting Dermal Fillers is to contact Celebrity Plastics and schedule a consultation. Before you consult with Dr. Keyes, you will need to meet our Patient Care Coordinator to discuss your aesthetic goals and eligibility. You can also schedule other noninvasive treatments such as BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers at this time.

During your consultation with Dr. Michael Keyes at Celebrity Plastics, he will discuss your aesthetic goals, assess your facial anatomy, and create a personalized treatment plan. This is a crucial step to ensure that Rhinoplasty is the right choice for you.

Pre-operative preparation

Before the procedure, our team will provide you with detailed instructions on how you can prepare for your Rhinoplasty appointment. This may involve avoiding certain medications, supplements, or activities to optimize the success of the treatment.

Dr. Keyes will make his incisions either inside your nose or underneath the columella to reach the internal structure. He will then either shave off bone and cartilage or perform a cartilage graft, depending on your aesthetic goals. Once finished, he will redrape your nasal skin and tissue and close the incisions.

You will need to wear a splint to protect your nose during the initial healing. There will be some initial swelling that should subside within a few weeks. Most patients will see their fully refined nose over the course of 1-2 years.

Post-operative appointments

To ensure ideal and lasting results of your rhinoplasty, post-op appointments will be scheduled to check in on the progress of your results and ensure proper healing. These appointments allow our practitioners to monitor your progress, address any concerns, and make any necessary adjustments for a seamless and satisfying outcome.

Dr. Keyes and our team will provide you with detailed post-operative instructions, including how to care for your nose, manage any discomforts, and minimize swelling. You will need to rest and avoid laborious activities to allow your body to heal.

You may also need to wear a nasal splint or bandage to support and protect your nose as it heals. The initial swelling and bruising typically subsides within the first few weeks, and the remaining swelling can take 1-2 years to go away before your final results become apparent.
